Rebuilding the Chain Through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Vision Statement: At The Missing Pink Breast Cancer Alliance, we envision a world where people of all races and ethnicities have equal access to information, resources, and care related to breast cancer, and where no one is left behind in the fight against this disease.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of everything we do at The Missing Pink Breast Cancer Alliance. We are committed to creating a community where all people, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic status, religion, or ability can receive the support they need to navigate the complexities of breast cancer treatment and survivorship.
Goals:
- To increase diversity and representation in our leadership, staff, and volunteer teams and members by actively recruiting individuals from diverse backgrounds and providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
- To provide culturally responsive education and resources about breast cancer to people of color and underserved communities who are often left out of the conversation and those supporting them in the pursuit of better health.
- To collaborate with individuals and organizations who share our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and who can help us broaden our reach.
- To advocate for policies and practices that promote equity in breast cancer research, treatment, and access to care.
Together, with the help of our change agents and the larger community, we can create a world where all people affected by breast cancer have the resources and support they need to thrive.
